Playground and Miya Time

We had a fun Thursday night at Miya's house today - we spent a few hours running, climbing and sliding at the playground, had a delicious dinner and special cupcakes from Uncle Al -yum! We also discovered that girls like to go to the bathroom in groups starting at 2 years old. Once one of them decided to go, the other 2 followed and had to go - it was cute. We love having Miya in town and look forward to a full summer with her.

Seahunt at the Waikiki Aquarium

We had a fun day at the Waikiki Aquarium yesterday - the girls participated in their Seahunt for the first time. We did crafts, did the Seahunt, met the Easter Bunny and other fun characters and looked at all the fish.

We ended our evening with a birthday party for the 90+ people in the family. Grandma Lum turned 94, Tai Tai turned 97 and Gung Gung turned 91 - WOW!

Busy weekend

We spent Friday night with JaJa and her family (and their small zoo) which the girls absolutely enjoyed. There were 3 dogs and 2 cats and the girls couldn't get enough of them - the animals were so happy that they had so much attention and were very tolerant of the girls. Poor Toby was having a major allergy attack from the cats - yikes. Maddie got itchy too (perhaps because she rubbed her face in the cat) so next time we will have to bring her allergy medicine. The girls are almost finished potty training - they are doing great! We only use a diaper when it is time to sleep - they will even go to the bathroom at someone's house or if we are out - HUGE progress. Their teachers will be so thrilled when we fill them in tomorrow - the girls have been on spring break the last week.

Fingerpainting Time

We kept the girls busy today with indoor painting and after their naps we braved the messy fingerpainting - which we did outdoors and in swimsuits.

Maddie not quite sure if she likes the mess

MAJOR catch up time

Time to play major catch up - we have been neglecting the blog as it has been a bit busy around here. Here are some photos to catch everyone up.

It was hot one weekend so we turned on the sprinklers and let the girls run in the yard. Maddie was a bit hesitant, but Katie loved it.

Katie all bundled up and dry

The girls went to the aquarium and made Japanese fish tings - the headband, a fish on a stick (similar to the boys day fish), and stamps

They love to look at the fish at Ala Moana - Toby is holding on to Katie in this photo - so don't worry about her falling in :)

Pretending to drive the golf cart at Chaminade - we went to support Jamie at her last game

Jamie and Katie

Maddie and Jamie - Maddie ran on the court during the ceremony. Oh dear. She was also trying to play basketball with the 6'9 men.

It has been raining a ton here so the girls finally got to use their raincoats

I chaired the Susan G. Komen Hawaii's first ever Pink Tie Ball at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel - Toby and I had a blast and enjoyed dressing up. The event was a huge success and raised a lot of money for the Hawaii affiliate.

The next night we attended and volunteered at the girls preschool's fundraising dinner. We helped their class make a table and chair set for the live auction. Here was the sign - can you spot Maddie and Katie?
