End of Summer

Summer has come to an end. Toby and I have both gone back to work, Grandma Sandy is babysitting Emily full time, and Maddie & Katie are about to transition to their new school. Miya & Thomas are heading back to Hong Kong so we have been spending a lot of time with them. The kids are all growing up so fast.

Aunty Amy was in town for a few weeks so we got to see her right before she left. We miss Aunty Amy and  we are excited she is back in the states. Now we need to get her back to Hawaii =) I love how Emily is staring at her in this photo.

Monthly doctor appointment with Dani and Aila. I am holding Aila - she is now almost 5 lbs heavier than Emily. She is so sweet and cuddly.

Emily is now 3 months old! She can sit up in a bumbo and loves to smile. She has discovered her hands and can often be found sucking on her hand, her fingers, or her thumb.

August is Here!

August is here! And what a crazy month it will be. Goings on for this month include:

Maile goes back to work after 3 months of maternity leave (boo!)
Maddie & Katie end their time at their wonderful school (we will miss their teachers and friends!)

Maddie & Katie start 3 year old preschool at a new school (hot lunch is included - yay!)

Grandma Sandy gets to babysit Emily every day (lucky! Maile is jealous...)

Debbie and family come to visit (yay!)

We have to provide a framed photo for the girls for their preschool. Since they are in the same class we are trying to make their things different so they can develop their individual personalities. We decided to do Katie's family photo all wearing purple, her favorite color (we took about 15 of these using the self timer on the camera to get one where we were all pretty much looking - Emily is excused from the requirement of looking at the camera)

We did Maddie's photo all wearing pink. We also tried to change the position/pose up a little. This was taken the day after the purple photo. Emily looks a little shocked in this one.

We loved this one - we all have a weird expression except Toby ---- Emily's face is classic. We will NOT be using this one for the preschool - the teachers may think we are weird.

We have had a busy July and we are going into an even busier August. A summary of the month of July:

• Maddie and Katie are still loving school
• We went to Miya's 3rd birthday party
• Emily turned 2 months old
• Emily got her first passport
• Maile, Emily and Grandma Sandy went to Calgary
• Aunty Amy came home
• We are preparing for the end of summer school and the beginning of a new school in August
• Toby went back to work
• Maile goes back to work in August

We babysat Thomas and Miya one night so their mommy and daddy could go to a nice dinner. We had 5 kids under 3 and had a lot of fun!

We made it to Calgary! A little sleepy, but we did it!
