New BFF!

Today my friend Mari (who I've known since kindergarten) came over with her mom and her beautiful daughter Miya (almost 4 months old) to visit Maddie and Katie. We know that they will be longtime friends just like their mommies. Here are some cute pics that we took of the 3 girls.

This blog is for our friends and family to watch our little girls as they grow up.

A little about our daughters...

Madison Yumi Ku'umomimakamae Kawamura was born on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 4:04 am. We liked the name Madison and call her Maddie for short. Yumi means "gentle, beautiful" in Japanese and Ku'umomimakamae means "my precious child" in Hawaiian. We chose the Japanese name because we liked the meaning and the simplicity of the name. The Hawaiian name was chosen as we are so greatful for Maddie and wanted to express how much she was wanted in our family.

Katelyn Miyoko Ka'ano'ipua Kawamura was born on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 4:04 am. We liked the name Katelyn and call her Katie for short. Miyoko means "beautiful lifetime child, or beauty passed through the generations" in Japanese and Ka'ano'ipua means "the desired child" in Hawaiian. We chose the Japanese name for the meaning and we really liked the name. The Hawaiian name was chosen for Katie as we wanted to show how blessed we feel to have her in our family.

Emily Yoshie Yuk Ling Kawamura was born on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:25 am. We both loved the name Emily and call her Emi or Em for short. We chose to honor both of her great grandmothers with her middle names. Yoshie (Toby's grandma's name) means gentle, graceful, blessing. Yuk Ling (Maile's grandmother is names Choi Yuk and helped us create Yuk Ling) means dainty jade.

Thank you for all of your love and support and we look forward to sharing the milestones of Maddie, Katie and Emily with you all.
